Our Origin

Vietri Construction & Engineering, named after Vietri Sul Mare, a picturesque town on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, carries a profound legacy. It’s where the maternal grandfather of one of our founders was born and the family’s journey in construction began. In 1949, he moved to Venezuela, continuing to build a life rooted in hard work as a builder and developer. That legacy lived on through his son-in-law and grandson, who became civil engineers and later moved to the United States in search of freedom. The company name—lovingly chosen by our founder's daughter—honors this rich heritage, symbolizing a legacy that bridges generations.

Today, Vietri proudly serves the State of Florida as a construction and engineering company dedicated to strengthening communities, improving lives, and building the infrastructure that shapes a better future.

The Founders

Andrea L. Mendez

President/CEO

Originally from Lima, Peru, Andrea moved to the United States at the age of 13. From a young age, Andrea demonstrated a talent for solving problems and resolving issues, a skill set that would become central to her professional journey. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture Studies from Florida International University (FIU) and began her career in architecture before expanding into real estate investment, development, and sales. Her foundation has shaped a career defined by accomplishment and a strong ability to provide results.

In addition to her role at Vietri, Andrea is the Broker/Owner of AGL Brokerage, Corp., a residential and commercial real estate firm. Her entrepreneurial experience and architectural background provide a unique perspective that blends design insight with business strategy and client-first service. This combination has enabled her to position Vietri to better understand client needs at a deeper level, adapt to project complexities, and deliver results that exceed expectations.

Together with Vietri’s trusted partners, Andrea has played a key role in shaping the company’s reputation for excellence by operating on the core principles of partnership, innovation, and client success. Vietri delivers not only high-quality structures but also long-term relationships built on trust, driven by excellence. The company operates with a clear vision of integrity and a results-oriented approach.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Andrea is a devoted wife and mother who finds joy and balance in spending quality time with her family. She also has a deep love for travel, which was sparked during her study abroad experience in Italy—a country she fell in love with and continues to revisit. A lover of good wine and meaningful experiences, one of Andrea’s proudest personal achievements was completing the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in San Diego after three months of dedicated training. She ran in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a cause that remains close to her heart. Above all, Andrea is a woman of faith, guided by her values in both life and leadership.

Eduardo Mendez , PE, CGC

Executive Vice President
Senior Project Engineer

Eduardo Jose Mendez Giordano, P.E., was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Orlando, Florida, with his family in 2005 in pursuit of safety and freedom. From a young age, Eduardo was drawn to construction, inspired by his grandfather, a developer, and his father, a civil and structural engineer, with whom he spent countless hours on job sites. He began his own hands-on experience in residential construction management before pursuing formal education in engineering. Eduardo started his college career at Penn State University before transferring to the University of Florida—ranked the nation’s No. 1 public university—where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction Engineering.

Eduardo launched his professional career through a competitive engineering training program with a South Florida consulting firm providing Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) services on roadway construction projects throughout the state. There, he quickly rose from inspector roles to managing CEI projects as a Project Administrator, PA/CSS, and Senior Project Engineer. After relocating to Orlando—his longtime home—he continued working in CEI while also expanding into vertical construction, overseeing a variety of projects including new residential and commercial builds, tenant build-outs, mid-rise developments, and plumbing system installations across Central Florida. Eduardo is also a licensed general contractor, combining his technical expertise with a deep understanding of project execution and regulatory compliance. Known for his proactive approach and strong leadership, he has played a key role in growing startups into successful engineering firms and securing major contracts in the region. In 2025, he partnered to launch Vietri Construction & Engineering, a firm rooted in integrity, technical excellence, and the values he has carried since childhood.

Outside of work, Eduardo is a devoted family man who enjoys cheering on his daughter at volleyball games and school dance performances. A passionate sports fan, he still plays in Sunday soccer leagues, never misses a Florida Gators football game on Saturdays, and is an avid Formula One enthusiast—always cheering for Ferrari on race day.

Gabriel Serrano

Vice President of Operations

Gabriel Serrano is a seasoned construction professional with over 27 years of experience in the construction and CEI fields. His career spans work with major agencies such as FDOT, CFX, and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, as well as a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients.

Gabriel has led numerous roadway and bridge projects, bringing a blend of technical expertise and hands-on field knowledge to ensure quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. His proactive approach to construction management—paired with strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills—sets him apart in the CEI and construction industries.

He is widely respected for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His dedication was honored with the FTBA Florida’s Best in Construction Urban Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to project delivery and industry standards.

Gabriel embraces the philosophy shared by Steve Jobs: “Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.” This belief underscores his emphasis on the power of collaboration and the importance of building strong, united teams to achieve exceptional results.

Outside of his professional life, Gabriel finds inspiration in Florida’s natural landscapes, enjoying kayaking and capturing the beauty of nature and architectural design through photography. These passions reflect his appreciation for detail, structure, creativity, and patience—qualities that also define his approach to construction and leadership.
